The former President of Al-Ghad party, Ayman Nour, said a delegation of the Muslim Brotherhood [MB] group asked to meet him to congratulate him on his release from prison. Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Nour said Hamdy Hassan, the spokesman of the MB block at the People's Assembly, asked for an appointment between Nour and an MB delegation this week at his home or office. Nour said most political forces had visited him, except al-Wafd – for well-known reasons, he said – and the MB. "No MB member met me. I was just congratulated on the phone by Essam el-Aryan and he passed on to me the General Guide's congratulations on my release" he said. Nour affirmed he was ready to meet the group at the Guide's office in Menial [Cairo] if there were any occasion. "I haven't been asked to meet him, but if there is the possibility, I'm ready. The MB knows I'm neither with it nor against it." Hamdy Hassan said the delegation which should meet Nour would include MPs Hassan Ibrahim, Ali Fath el-Bab and Ezab Mustafa, in addition to anyone wishing to join them. When he was asked whether the visit had been ordered by the MB General Guide, Hassan said: "The MB parliamentary block is independent so that it can achieve the group's goals. The meeting will not discuss just one specific issue, as we think Nour is el-Ghad's president." Ali Abdel Fattah, one of the persons in charge of the parties file at the MB, said: "Nour asked to meet me in Alexandria and when the Guide's office gave me its go-ahead, I met and congratulated him. We agreed to have another meeting and the date is expected to be set this week."
