Al-Masry Al-Youm has learnt that some pharmaceutical companies requested the Health Ministry to amend the prices of some medicines so as to offset losses amounting to LE 43 million just last year. Ministry of Health sources said the ministry will not consider such requests until the registration and pricing systems are agreed upon with those companies. They said that there are extensive meetings with the producers and distributors to improve the quality and to put standards for pricing. Documents show that 30% of the medicines produced by these companies are sold for less than LE 3.00 and make losses.
