Maj. Gen. Ali al-Khazragi, Director of Sallum outlet, said some 25,000 Egyptians returned from Libya last week due to the new taxes imposed by the Libyan authorities on foreigners in Libya. Al-Khazragi denied intention to increase fees on the Libyans, in reaction to Libya's decision.
The number of the Egyptian returnees from Libya yesterday reached 4,000. Some 3,500 Egyptians return from Libya a day. Sallum outlet received some 187 trucks arriving from Libya during the past few days. Some 253 trucks loaded with goods and food commodities crossed the Egyptian border to Libya during the same period, Al-Khazragi said.
