Cairo - Head of France's Foundation for Islam Jean-Pierre Chevenement praised President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's initiative to renew the religious discourse. The French official made the remark at a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Hamdi Sanad. They tackled cooperation against the extremist religious discourse used by terrorist groups to lure followers. Chevenement hailed the role of the Egyptian religious institution; al-Azhar and Darul Iftaa, in fighting the extremist religious discourse and promoting moderate thought. The president of the Islam foundation highlighted the activities of the foundation in France through building bridges between France and the Muslim communities. He further stressed France's keenness on uprooting extremist ideologies within the French community.
