Cairo - Al Azhar vehemently condemned on Sunday the twin bombing that hit central Baghdad on Saturday leaving dozens dead and injured. In a statement, Azhar reaffirmed its rejection of terrorist attacks targeting innocent people, stressing that such practices contradict the moderate teachings of Islam. It also denounced crimes committed by the terrorist Daesh group and similar organizations across the world. Egypt's Foreign Ministry spokesman also asserted in a press release Egypt's firm stance condemning terrorism and extremism, in all forms and shapes. He extended condolences to the Iraqi government and people along with the bereaved families of the dead. He also wished the injured speedy recovery.
