An Egyptian misdemeanor court on Saturday accepted the appeal of 33 defendants against a two year sentence on charges of protesting the Egyptian-Saudi border demarcation agreement. The demonstrations that erupted on April 25 opposed an official decision to hand over two Red Sea islands—Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia. The court revoked the sentence and announced the defendants innocent.
