El-Minya Criminal Court sentenced 15 elements linked to the banned Muslim Brotherhood (MB) to 18 years imprisonment in absentia over terror related charges, Al-Bawba News reported Wednesday. The court's verdict had included a fine of EGP 135,000 for each defendant while it released other three MBs who were found not guilty. The case dates back to August 2013 when chaos took place in El-Minya province following the disperse of Rabaa sit-in. The defendants were accused of joining a banned entity, inciting violence and constitution boycott and staging protests against authorities.
