An Egyptian court in al-Minya Province, southern Egypt, has referred eight Muslim Brotherhood elements to the Grand Mufti for opinion on their death sentence, al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. The defendants were found guilty for inciting violence related crimes against police and military personnel following the dispersal of Rabia and El-Nahda sit-ins, Aug. 2013, judicial sources said. Meanwhile, the same court acquitted 21 defendants from belonging to the MB banned group. The MB was listed as a terrorist group in Sept. 2013 following a string of deadly attacks against police and army personnel. The one-year long MB rule was ousted July 2013 amid mass street protests.
