Security forces in Egypt's Mediterranean city of Alexandria arrested Friday 13 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) affiliates over staging illegal protests and sabotaging public and private properties, Al-Bawaba News reported. The protesters blocked traffic, threw stones and fireworks at police personnel and chanted slogans against police and military forces, police said. Unlicensed protesting is criminalized in Egypt according to a Protest Law issued by interim authorities following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi July 2013. In Matrouh, western Egypt, an MB spokesperson was arrested over terror-related crimes including storming and sabotaging the Matrouh court building following the dispersal of Rabia and El-Nahda sit-ins Aug. 2013, according to police reports.
