Egypt's Minister of State for Antiquities Mamdouh al-Damaty announced that a two-year-long Egyptian antiquities exhibition will kick off Oct. 16 in Japan in a bid to promote the troubled tourism sector in the country, Al-Bawaba News reported Wednesday. Al-Damaty described the move as a message to the Japanese people that Egypt is safe and ready to welcome visitors from around the world. A shipment of 120 artifacts from the Egyptian Museum are now en route to the exhibition in Japan that will tour different provinces promoting the Egyptian heritage.
