The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated Monday that the U.S. led international coalition against Islamic State (IS) had killed 3,414 militants and civilians since the beginning of its military campaign in September 2014. SOHR revealed that 3,061 IS militants had been killed by the coalition's airstrikes in Homs, Hama, Al Hasakah, Al Raqqa, Der-Ezzor and Aleppo. "SOHR believes that the real number of casualties in IS is more than our documented number because of IS concealment on its casualties", the observatory said. It added that 136 militants from the Al Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front were killed in the western countryside of Aleppo and the northern countryside of Idlib. The observatory pointed out that 206 civilians including 104 children and women were killed by the coalition's airstrikes.
