Egypt's police defused Saturday an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near Beheira governorate's water company, Al Bawaba News reported. Bomb disposal experts intensified their presence immediately to the area in order to defuse the bomb by water cannons as well as scanning the area for other potential threats. Egypt has been hit by a string of deadly blasts claiming hundreds of lives, mostly among security personnel since the ousting of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
