U.S President Barack Obama said Tuesday that Washington will support the Kurdish Peshmerga forces in Iraq and the moderate opposition in Syria against the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, Al Bawaba News reported. Obama added that IS lives among several communities that work to confront its expansion, pointing out that the jihadist group lost more than 40% percent of its influence in Iraq and Syria. The Peshmerga is the military force of Iraqi Kurdistan, which decided in August 2014 to fight against IS after it seized large areas in Iraq and Syria.
