Peshmerga Kurdish forces have thwarted Saturday an Islamic State (IS) jihadist group attack in Sinjar, northern Iraq, killing two IS' leaders. Kurdish sources said that IS carried out an attack but the peshmerga forces succeeded to resist it with the support of the international coalition's warplanes. The sources pointed out that the clashes between IS and perhmerga lasted for two hours, adding that two IS' leaders were killed, as well as many of the groups' militants. The Peshmerga is the military force of Iraqi Kurdistan, which decided in August 2014 to fight against IS after it seized large areas in Iraq and Syria.
