Giza Criminal Court sentenced 23 convicts of Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) stormers to 10 years in prison and acquitted another 13, Youm7 News reported. The court fined the convicts EGP 275.275 for torching police and private vehicles, attempting to kill policemen and citizens, and sabotaging the EMPC properties. In August 2013, Islamists staged an illegal sit-in in front of the EMPC, impeding broadcasters from airing their shows. Bloody protesters-police clashes erupted, resulting in injuries on both sides and damages to the media city.
