Egyptian courts will try Sunday several terror-related cases, including two ongoing trials involving Al Qaeda and the Ajnad Misr terrorist groups, Al Bawaba News reported. Cairo criminal court will resume the trial of Mohamed Al Zawahri, AQ leader Ayman Al Zawahri's brother and 68 co-defendants, charged with forming a terrorist group affiliated to Al Qaeda, assaulting policemen, civilians and public property as well as endangering the safety and unity of the society. Giza Criminal Court will try 20 defendants belonging to the Ajnad Misr terrorist organization, charged with attacking police and military personnel, bombing, premeditated murder of three police officers and a civilian, destruction of public property and illegal possession of explosive substances. Port Said Criminal Court will resume the case known in the media as the "Port Said Prison" in which 51 defendants face 42 murder charges, including the slaying of two policemen, Ahmed Al Bulki and Ayman Al Afifi. Cairo Criminal Court will also try 23 members of the Ansar Al Sharia (Sharia Allies) Brigades, who face charges of killing a policeman and 11 police recruits, attempting to kill 9 others, and joining an extremist organization. Giza Criminal Court will hear witnesses in the storming of the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) case, where 36 defendants are accused of torching police and private vehicles, attempting to kill policemen and citizens and sabotaging EMPC properties.
