Criminal courts across Egypt resumed Saturday several terror-related trials, including a private court session in the case publicly known as the "Missiles' Cell", according to Al Bawaba News. The case's 36 defendants, among whom 14 are fugitives from justice, are accused of forming a terrorist group, manufacturing explosives and illegal possession of firearms. Giza criminal court will also try 36 defendants accused of storming the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC), setting fire to police and private cars, attempting to kill policemen and citizens, and damaging the city's properties. Cairo Criminal court resumed the trial of 23 members of the Ansar Al Sharia militant group, accused of killing 11 policemen and attempting to kill 9 others. The court will also consider the case of 213 members of the IS-linked Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, over charges of killing policemen and attempting to assassinate former Interior minister Mohamed Ibrahim. The court will also try 16 defendants linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and Zamalek sports club's fan league, dubbed the White Knights, accused of rioting during a football game last February, causing the deaths of 22 White Knights fans. North Cairo criminal court will consider the retrial of 8 members of the 'Suez Canal' terrorist cell, over accusations of forming a terrorist group and targeting ships passing through the canal.
