The number of foreign workers in both private and investing sectors witnessed a decline by 8.3% as 13,486 foreign workers were registered in 2014 compared to 14,699 foreigners in the base, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said Wednesday. Statistics from the Annual Bulletin of workers said that the number of foreigners working in Egypt for the first time has reached 4372 foreigners during 2014 and the number of foreigners who renewed their contracts has hit 9114 foreigners. The number of foreigners coming from Arab countries is the largest number recording 4111 foreigners by 30.5%, followed by Arab workers by 30.3%, and Asian workers by 29.2%, while non-Arab African workers registered 141 foreigners by 1%. Statistics showed that Manpower Directorates are ranked first in terms of issuing work permits for foreigners working in in both private and investing sectors in Egypt.
