Cairo criminal court resumes Monday the espionage case of ousted President Mohamed Morsi and 10 co-defendants, Al Bawaba News reported. The defendants face charges of leaking secret documents and reports on the Egyptian army to Qatar through the Qatari TV channel, Al Jazeera. Cairo Criminal Court also resumes Monday the trial of 68 Muslim Brotherhood (MB) members over charges of storming the Helwan Police station August 2013, Al Bawaba News reported. The defendants face charges of terrorism, crowding, premeditated murder, sabotaging public property and illegal possession of firearms. Cairo criminal court will resume the retrial of the case known in the media as "Marriott Cell" on Monday, Al Bawaba News reported Thursday. The defendants face charges of joining an illegal group, endangering social peace and national unity, sabotaging public property and blocking official institutions from doing their jobs, judicial sources said. North Cairo Criminal Court considers Monday the request of Inventory Committee of the Muslim Brotherhood funds to freeze the assets of former Supreme Guide of MB, Mahdy Akef, upon the decision of Egypt's cabinet to designate MB as terrorist organization in 2013.
