Egyptian courts will resume Wednesday the trials of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) members accused of terrorism-related crimes. Cairo Criminal Court will resume the trial of ousted President Mohamed Morsi and co-defendants charged with leaking top secret military reports of intelligence agencies, the Armed Forces and the National Security Authority to a foreign country (Qatar). The court is set to unseal evidence during today's session. Egypt's Court of Cassation will consider the appeals submitted by 90 defendants on guilty verdicts spanning between 15-year to life in prison, over charges of joining a terrorist organization and committing violent crimes in the Mansoura Governorate immediately after the dispersal of the Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins in August 2013. The Court will also consider 38 defendants' appeals on prison terms pronounced by the criminal court which sentenced 37 of them to 15 years in prison, and one to 3 years, for attempting to bomb the Shubra metro line October 2013. In the same context, the Cairo Criminal Court will resume the trial of 68 defendants accused of storming the Helwan Police station in August 2013, Al Bawaba News reported. The defendants face charges of joining a terrorist organization, crowding, premeditated murder, sabotaging public property and illegal possession of firearms.
