Giza Criminal Court will pronounce April 29 sentences for 73 defendants facing arson charges in the case publicly known as the "Burning of Kerdasa Church", Al Bawaba News reported Tuesday. The charges also include possession of unlicensed firearms, attempted murder, blocking the road, joining a terrorist organization namely, the Muslim Brotherhood, and resisting arrest. The suspects were involved in violent crimes against citizens and a church in Kerdasa, Giza, coinciding with the dispersal of the Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins, staged by ousted president Mohamed Morsi's supporters, August 2013.
