Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced Sunday that Islamic State (IS) jihadist group killed 223 people in Syria's Kobani city since June 25. The observatory said that dozens of children and women were killed in IS attack on Barkh Botan village in the southern countryside of Kobani, pointing out that more than 300 people were wounded. It added that seven Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) and 79 IS fighters were killed during explosions and clashes between them in the city. SOHR revealed that 16 IS militants were killed by the U.S-led international coalition airstrikes in al-Shiokh al-Foqani west of Kobani countryside. It confirmed that the YPG forces captured an Egyptian IS militant who said that the jihadist group knew that YPG militants don't exist heavily in Kobani due to their battles in Ein Essa and north of al-Raqqa countryside so it will be easy for IS to control over Kobani.
