Law drafting committee rejected Sunday the electoral unified draft initiative, a judicial source who asked to remain anonymous told Al Bawaba newspaper. The source said that the committee opted not to amend any article of the electoral system or districts law, after reviewing the initiative. The committee did not find major differences between the initiative and the draft laws concerning the electoral system or districts law, the source added. Al-Mohafezeen party launched the initiative as a means to coordinate between the government and political parties to hold the upcoming parliamentary elections in compliance with the Egyptian constitution. A number of political parties supported this initiative.
