Port-Said Criminal Court resumed Saturday the trial of former Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie and 190 co-defendants, charged with inciting an assault on Al Arab police station in the Port-Said Governorate, Al Bawaba News reported. Badie and MB leaders Mohamed Al Beltagy and Safwat Hegazy are charged with inciting MB members to storm Al Arab police station, where they facilitated the escape of prisoners and committed larceny of firearms, resulting in the killing of five policemen in 2013. Cairo's Misdemeanor Court will also consider Saturday keeping 16 MB-affiliated defendants, under custody pending further investigations in the Matareya violent incidents, which jeopardized the district's residents' safety. Giza Criminal Court also resumed Saturday the case publicly known as the ‘Ajnad Misr Case', involving 20 defendants belonging to the Ajnad Misr terrorist organization allegedly responsible for terrorist attacks that targeted police and military personnel. The defendants face charges of bombing, premeditated murder of three police officers and a civilian, destruction of public property and illegal possession of explosive substances.
