Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry flew Tuesday to Uganda on his African tour which also includes Djibouti, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Shoukry is scheduled to meet his Ugandan counterpart Okello Oyrem to discuss ways to improve bilateral relations in the upcoming period, the statement read. The Egyptian minister had previously held several meetings with Djiboutian officials, including Endowment, Cultural and High Education ministers as well as Djibouti's special envoy to Libya Dalita Mohamed Dalita, in which they discussed the situation in Libya and the Horn of Africa in terms of development and stability. Meanwhile, Shoukry met Tuesday with Mohamed Ali Houmed, head of Djiboutian Parliament, to discuss bilateral issues especially parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The two officials agreed on the expansion of teaching Arabic language in Djibouti, and to activate the Egypt-Djibouti Parliamentary Friendship Association after the election of the new Egyptian parliament.
