Moataz Khafagy, the judge presiding over the case known as the ‘Muslim Brotherhood guidance office incidents', survived Sunday an assassination attempt when a bomb exploded near his house, a security official told Youm7 newspaper. The source, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said that an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near Khafagy's home in the Zahraa Helwan district, leaving three vehicles, including his, destroyed. The Security forces deployed to the crime scene swept the surroundings and found another IED that was about to explode. The forces detained a suspect, who reportedly works as a pharmacist.
