The Afghan Taliban fired rockets on a U.S. military base outside Kabul targeting government buildings Friday, officially launching their spring offensive, Reuters reported. No casualties were reported, officials told Reuters. The Taliban claimed, in an emailed statement, to have launched 108 attacks across the country on Friday and to have "killed and wounded many Americans" at the Bagram Air Base outside Kabul, the capital, according to Reuters. The Taliban have been fighting the Afghan government and the U.S. since their government was ousted from power by U.S.-backed Afghan forces in 2001.
