The Iraqi army and U.S.-led International coalition killed Saturday 44 Islamic State (IS) militants across Iraq, Al Bawaba newspaper reported. Iraqi Defense Ministry announced in a statement the army targeted IS sites in Anbar province, killing 13 militants and destroying two car bombs. Since 2014, Anbar has witnessed fierce clashes between the Iraqi military forces and IS militants, who seized control over the province. The statement added the coalition launched 15 airstrikes against IS' sites in Al Anbar, Saladin and Mosul, killing 23 militants as well as destroying six car bombs and six terrorist outposts. In Saladin Province, the statement added, the coalition troops killed eight IS militants and destroyed three vehicles.
