Iraqi security sources said a roadside bomb killed Saturday seven civilians and wounded nine in Iraq's Muqdadiyah, northeast of Baqubah, German Press Agency (DPA) reported. The source revealed that an improvised explosive device (IED) placed by the side of the road killed and wounded the civilians. Meanwhile, Iraqi forces have killed 11 Islamic State (IS) militants in a retaliatory operation at the Hamrin Mountains, northeast of Baqubah, the source added. According to international reports, thousands of Iraqi civilians have been killed since IS controlled large swathes of the war-torn country.
