The African Union condemned in a statement Wednesday Sinai terrorist attacks that left dozens dead and wounded on Sunday, Al Bawaba News reported. Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma said that such terrorist attacks are carried out by the enemies of peace, pointing out that the Union supports the Egyptian government and people against terrorism. Zuma offered its condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured people speedy recovery. On Sunday, Wilayat Sinai group, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, attacked a military vehicle and an army checkpoint in Sheikh Zuwaid and Rafah, killing six soldiers and injured others The group also attacked on Sunday Al Arish Police station, killing nine soldiers and injuring dozens.
