France strongly condemned Thursday the terrorist attack on army security checkpoints in Sheikh Zuwaid, North Sinai that killed 15 soldiers and 2 civilians. French Foreign Ministry spokesman, Roman Nadal offered his country's condolences to the families of the victims, stressing on France's support for Egypt in its war against terrorism. Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in a statement the Sheikh Zuwaid terrorist attack, offering condolences to the victims' families. The ministry added that Bahrain supported Egypt in its fight against terrorism that aims at destroying its security and stability, as well as tackling the development process in Egypt. Earlier Thursday, Wilayat Sinai terrorist group, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, attacked 5 security checkpoints in North Sinai. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai after it claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
