Spokesperson for Egypt's Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Badr Abdel Atty announced that 79 Egyptians have arrived at Cairo International airport Sunday bringing the total of Egyptians evacuated from Yemen to 1300 nationals. Abdel Atty pointed out that 1016 Egyptians were evacuated through Saudi Arabia, adding that more than 46 fled the conflict-torn country through Oman.
He asserted that Egypt coordinates with Saudi Arabia, Oman and other Arab countries in order to evacuate the rest of trapped Egyptians by air or sea.
Sunni-ruled Yemen has been witnessing a state of intensive chaos since the Houthi rebels staged a coup against the Yemeni legitimate President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, taking over large parts of the country.
