Egypt's Foreign Ministry is cooperating with the Crisis Management Cell in Yemen to evacuate the Egyptian nationals trapped in the war-torn country, FM spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty said in a statement Wednesday. Abdel Atty revealed that the ministry held a meeting early Wednesday with representatives of the crisis cell at the Ministry headquarters in the presence of Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry and the Egyptian ambassador to Yemen and senior officials from concerned ministries and entities to follow up on the situation of Egyptians stranded in Yemen. Abdel Atty said a number of Egyptian nationals in Yemen have been moved to a safe location in neighboring Oman, adding that they will be transported to Cairo on board of Egypt Air flights. He asserted that the crisis cell will work around the clock, noting that the minister is monitoring the process personally and has instructed officials to ensure the safe return of every Egyptian national. Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies launched March 26 the ‘Storm of Resolve' military operation to counter Iran-backed Shiite Houthi forces besieging the southern city of Aden, where Yemeni president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi had taken refuge.
