Security forces repelled Thursday six terrorist attacks targeting military and police personnel in north Sinai, according to security reports. Military forces chased a group of unidentified gunmen, after an unsuccessful attack on a military checkpoint, south of Sheikh Zuweid, using heavy weaponry. Bomb disposal officers defused five explosive packages planted on the international road between Arish and Rafah to be used against military convoys. The forces arrested 25 suspects, and destroyed several houses belonging to insurgents in Be'r Al Abd, Arish, Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah. The night curfew has been enforced in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah, as military forces fired warning bullets and exploratory bombs.
