Security authorities confirmed Wednesday that military forces thwarted 7 bombing attempts using 5 explosive packages and two car bombs in Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, north Sinai. A Mercedes-Benz vehicle carrying two tons of explosives to be used against security forces was discovered at a gas station south of Arish, according to security sources. Security forces destroyed a Mitsubishi-Lancer vehicle rigged with explosives at the entrance of Sidot, Rafah. A security source, who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed that bomb disposal officers defused five explosive packages planted on the road to Arish and Rafah.
