Explosions occurred Sunday across Egypt, mainly in Al Qalyubia, Alexandria and Cairo, leaving one dead and five injured, according to Ministry of Health. Undersecretary of the ministry of Health in Alexandria, Magdy Hegazy told Al Bawaba News that one person had died and five others were wounded in an explosion on Mustafa Kamel road, east of the province. Hegazy said that the wounded were taken to the Amiri University hospital for treatment, adding that the security forces and a bomb squad deployed to the scene to secure the area and neutralize any other possible threat. Assistant to the Minister of Interior, Maj. Gen. Gad Al Haq told Al Ahram newspaper that an explosive pack had detonated on the railway between Zifta and Saad Pasha Stations in Al Qalyubia province. Al Haq said that the explosion had left no injuries, causing only material losses. He added that the blast hadn't affected traffic. An explosion also occurred in a security checkpoint south of Rafah, caused by an explosive pack planted by unidentified. No injuries were reported. Two cars belonging to two policemen exploded near embassies in Nasr city, after unidentified suspects planted an explosive pack near the vehicles. No injuries were reported. Civil Protection Units and a bomb squad deployed to the scene to secure the area. A security source, who asked to remain anonymous, told Al Watan newspaper that an unidentified suspect had detonated another explosive pack inside an electricity booth, located under Al Ferdous Bridge in Nasr city, near the city's central security sector. The source added that a bomb squad deployed to the scene had revealed that the explosive pack contained highly dangerous explosive materials.
