Saudi budget airlines, Nas Air, is to send its fleet to Cairo for overhaul at EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering complex. The airline received technical offers from European, Asian and Middle Eastern overhauling centres, including the Egyptian offer made by the national carrier's technical branch. An official statement by EgyptAir ME said that it had won the contract to carry out C-Check to a number of the Saudi aircraft. The contract is the second to win by the same carrier to overhaul its fleet. According to Chairman and CEO Saeed El-Mikawy, wining the new contract is a result of a successful previous experience where Nas Air could be comforted with the work carried out by staff of technicians and employees. "A new contract signifies the trust in our skillful team of engineers and technicians. It also highlights the trust of professional management. As such, we are happy to take the new contract amid a strong competition," El-Mikaway said. "EgyptAir ME has been highly accredited by top international associations and bodies related to overhauling and safety. It is supported by 80 years of experience in operating air travel business. We have benefited from the long experience of the mother company. Now we are proud to serve 125 clients from all over the world." El-Mikawy did not reveal the value of the contract nor the number of aircraft stipulated in the contract. Nas Air is a low cost airlines which operates a fleet of aircraft to some thirty domestic and international destinations, with more than 450 flights weekly. On the other hand, EgyptAir ME offers a Total Care maintenance solutions, Pool support service and Airworthiness Continuous Management. The company has been accredited by the FAA, ISO 9001 and is approved as an accredited maintenance centre for Embrair fleet in the Middle East.
