Sufra Dayma: Walnut and Chocolate Chip Cookies By Moushira Abdel-Malek Ingredients: 225 gms plain flour 100 gms brown sugar 1 egg (at room temperature) + vanilla 200 gms good quality dark cooking chocolate (coarsely chopped) 150 gms walnut halves (coarsely chopped) 125 gms softened butter Method: Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Lightly grease non-stick baking trays. Beat butter and sugar in a medium bowl, with an electric beater until well combined and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and beat well. Sift the flour over the butter mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until well combined. Add the chocolate and walnuts, stirring to combine. Use your hands to roll tablespoonful of the cookie mixture into balls. Place the balls, 3 cm apart on prepared trays. Use a fork to slightly flatten. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until lightly goldened. Remove from oven and allow to cool in trays for 5 minutes, then transfer onto a wire rack to cool completely.
