Sufra Dayma: Meatballs in Creamy Sauce By Moushira Abdel-Malek Ingredients: 750 gms minced beef 1 medium onion (grated) 3 cloves garlic (crushed) 1 egg (beaten) 3/4 cup packaged dried breadcrumbs 2 tbsp fresh parsley leaves (chopped) Salt + pepper + allspice + thyme Oil to fry Creamy Sauce: 2 tbsp plain flour 2 cups milk 1 bouillon cube 2 tbsp cream 50 gms butter Method: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Season to taste and form into small sized balls. Heat oil in a large pan. Cook meatballs in batches until browned all over and cooked through. Cover and keep warm in a serving dish. Creamy Sauce: Melt butter in a medium pan. Add flour. Cook until mixture is bubbly. Remove from heat and add milk and bouillon. Bring back to heat, stirring until sauce thickens slightly. Add cream, stir, for one minute. Drizzle sauce over meatballs and serve immediately with rice and salad.
