Marking the 137th anniversary of the first issue of Al-Ahram, for the benefit of its founders Selim and Bishara Takla, Al-Ahram Establishment held a giant celebration featuring an exhibition showcasing Al-Ahram's first typewriter, first sign-in watch, first delivery vehicle and a bust of Selim Takla as well as a number of rare pictures. Present at the ceremony were Al-Ahram Chairman of the Board Mamdouh Al-Wali, Al-Ahram Editor-in-Chief Abdel-Nasser Salama, Giza Governor Ali Abdel-Rahman, Chairman of the State Information Service Ambassador Mohamed Badreddin and the Diwan magazine editor Kawthar Zaki, as well as a number of Al-Ahram writers including Afkar Al-Kharadli and Soheir Hedayat.
