Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed satisfaction with his side's 2-0 win over Malaga in the La Liga on Saturday. "This was a very good and important result because winning here wasn't easy but we managed to do it," Ancelotti was quoted as saying on the club's official website. "We had plenty of chances to kill off the game but were lacking in terms of the final ball," he added. Cristiano Ronaldo scored his Spanish league-leading 25th goal to give Real Madrid a lackluster 1-0 win at Malaga on Saturday, when the pacesetters extended their unbeaten run to 30 consecutive matches in all competitions. Ronaldo netted the winner in the 23rd minute, and a tired Madrid was fortunate Malaga failed to muster a comeback in the final 10 minutes. "It was a normal game against a very motivated side, like all the teams are at this stage of the season. We also have to praise Malaga." Real Madrid are scheduled to face arch-rivals Barcelona on 23 March in a potentially decisive clash. "This team is playing consistently. Like I've said, there are matches in which we have to play to different strengths. Our players' attitude in defence was great and they worked hard. I think we are ready to play the Clasico," the tactician concluded. The Meringues are top of the table with 70 points, three more than second place Atletico Madrid and seven over third place Barcelona.
