Mauritania's Da Silva seeks Ahly departure Outcast forward Da Silva was omitted from Ahly's 26-man African squad, while Sabri Rahil, Ahmed Khairy, Gedo, Ahmed Raouf and Moussa Yedan were included
Ahly's out-of-favor Mauritanian striker Dominique Da Silva has asked to part ways with the club amicably, the Cairo giants announced on Wednesday. Blessed with strength and speed, Da Silva joined Ahly in 2011. The former Esperance striker, who turned 24 in August, sustained several injuries that hampered his run and now is set to leave the African Champions. "Da Silva has asked the management to terminate his contract amicably," Ahly's football department head Hady Khashaba told the club's official website. "There will be a meeting with Da Silva on Thursday to discuss the matter in details, taking into consideration the interest of both the club and the player," he added. New signings included in African squad The Red Devils coach Mohamed Youssef announced the team's 26-man African squad on Wednesday without including Da Silva who has been kept on sidelines for quite a while. Alternate goalkeeper Mahmoud Abou El-Saoud was also out after his recent request to go out of the club on loan, while new signings Sabri Rahil, Ahmed Khairy, Ahmed Raouf and Moussa Yedan were in. Striker Mohamed Nagy Gedo was also available in the African squad that will represent Ahly in its title defence campaign in the CAF Champions league.
