Ahly injury boost ahead of Club World Cup Sherif Abdel-Fadil, Walid Soliman and Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneam recover from injury ahead of Club World Cup in Morocco
Ahly have been boosted by the recovery from injury of Sherif Abdel-Fadil, Walid Soliman and Ahmed Adel Abdel-Moneam. The Egyptian giants were facing a selection dilemma ahead of the Club World Cup that begins in Morocco on 11 December. "The trio resumed full training on Tuesday after recovering from their injuries," Ahly said in a statement on its official website. "They will be available for Wednesday's friendly against Arab Contractors in the final match before travelling to Morocco," the statement added. Defender Abdel-Fadil had a knee problem, playmaker Walid Soliman had ankle pains, while reserve goalkeeper Abdel-Moneam had a knee injury. Ahly will represent Africa in the Club World Cup for the fifth time after winning the African Champions League earlier this month against South Africa's Orlando Pirates. They will start their campaign on 14 December against Asian Champions Guangzhou Evergrande of China in the quarter-finals. The winner will face European champions Bayern Munich in the semifinal on 17 December. Ahly's best place was a third-place finish in the 2006 tournament in Japan.
