Ahly striker Emad Meteb has expressed excitement over his fourth participation in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in Morocco on 11 December. Speaking to the club's official website, Meteb said that the upcoming matches are a source of personal motivation for him. "It is my first championship after a long absence," said the 30-year-old, referring to a back injury which sidelined him for a few months. He spoke of returning to his scoring days, when he was in his best form to date, and insisted that Ahly will be bidding for better results than its third-place finish in 2006. "Nothing is impossible in football," he said. This is the fifth time that Ahly has represented Africa in the Club World Cup. Last month, the team defeated South Africa's Orlando Pirates to win the African Champions League. Ahly's campaign in Morocco begins on 14 December, when they face Asian Champions Guangzhou Evergrande of China in the quarter-finals. "We have met Japanese opponents before and we are familiar with Japanese football. There is no big difference between it and the Chinese," Meteb claimed. The winner of this match will face European champions Bayern Munich in the semis on 17 December.
