Ahly's Da Silva dreams of FiFA Club World Cup Ahly's new signing Mauritanian Dominique Da Silva is ambitious to participate in the FiFA Club World Cup and hails his inspiring coach Manule Jose Da Silva
After scoring in his first appearance with Ahly, Mauritanian striker Dominique Da Silva promises the Cairo giant's supporters more outstanding performances in the future. Da Silva scored the second goal in Ahly's win over South African SuperSportto, giving the six-time African champions a good lead ahead of the return leg of the CAF Champions League round 32 on Friday. “Ahly fans' warm welcome inspired me a lot. I will do my best to make them happy in the future,” Da Silva is quoted as saying on Ahly's official website on Wednesday. “I consider this goal to be the first step in my success with Ahly”, he added. The 21-year old forward moved to the Red Devils last January from Tunisian side Club Sportif Sfaxien, winning the approval of his coach Manule Jose during training sessions and recent friendlies. “I wasn't in my best form as it's my first game but I did my best to prove my worth to the coach. At half-time, Jose told me that I will play the full game as he was expecting me to score. That inspired me a lot.” Da Silva was quickly in harmony with his new club and all teammates are helping him on and off the pitch. “I feel like that they are my family and I have a good relationship with all of them,” he explained. All football activities have been halted in Egypt because of insecurity after the revolution, and Da Silva is eagerly waiting for the league to resume to achieve his ambitions with Ahly. “Restarting the Egyptian league will help the whole team and for me it will be a great boost to achieve my goals,” he added. “I am hoping to win all championships with Ahly in the coming period, especially the African Champions League, to accomplish my big dream of playing in the FiFA club World Cup,” the talented striker concluded.
