Former Egypt coach Gharib to take charge of Ismaily
Ismaily reach an agreement with former Egypt assistant coach Shawky Gharib, three-time Africa Cup of Nations winner, to take charge of the team

Egyptian club Ismaily have reached an agreement with Smouha coach Shawky Gharib to take charge of the team next season.
Earlier on Sunday, the coastal club's coach Mohamed Wahba announced his resignation amid uncertainty over the Egyptian football's future due to the country's political turmoil.
“Gharib will succeed Wahba as the first team head coach,” Isamily said in a statement on their official website on Monday.
“He has agreed not to be paid until the start of the new season. The board is waiting for the return of club president Mahmoud Abou-Elsoud to sign the official contract with the new coach,” the statement added.
The Dervishes secured passage to last season's Premier League final phase before the tournament was cancelled due to security reasons.
Under the guidance of Gharib, Smouha finished third in Group A of the league with 27 points, 12 adrift of leaders Ahly.
Ismaily have not won any trophy since their 2002 Egyptian Premier League triumph.
Gharib, 54, was in charge of Egypt when they won the bronze medal at the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship in Argentina. He was also the assistant of Egypt's senior team manager Hassan Shehata during a highly-successful reign that yielded three Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
