First-time Mozambique coach hopes to impress by beating Egypt
Newly-appointed interim coach aims to beat the Pharaohs in his first official test with his country's national football team

Although he sees it as a challenge, Mozambique caretaker coach John Chissano will go for a strong win for his country when they host Egypt Sunday in the fifth match of 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
Mozambique were thrashed 6-1 by Guinea last Sunday, terminating their World Cup chances as they are third with only 2 points - 10 behind leaders Egypt with just two rounds to go.
On Thursday, Assistants Chissano and Mano Mano were appointed as interim caretaker coaches after the Mozambique Football Federation's decision to part ways with German coach Gert Engels.
"We realise that Egypt will not be an easy opponent, especially that they managed to score seven goals away from their homeland," Chissano said in a press conference on Saturday.
"We respect the Egyptian team, but we seek a new glory by beating them on Sunday," he added.
Egypt defeated Zimbabwe 4-2 in last week's qualifier to get a step closer towards its first ticket to the world's most prestigious football tournament since 1990.
The Pharaohs need one point to secure their qualification for the final round, since they have 12 points, five ahead of second-placed Guinea.
The ten group winners will advance to a two-legged playoff that will determine Africa's five representatives at next year's World Cup finals in Brazil.
