Injured Abdel-Shafy and El-Sayed out of Pharaohs squad for World Cup qualifiers Zamalek's duo to miss Pharaohs' World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Mozambique due to injury
Egypt coach Bob Bradley has ruled Zamalek duo Mohamed Abdel-Shafy and Nour El-Sayed out of the Pharaohs squad which will play Zimbabwe and Mozambique in upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Bradley had named Zamalek's duo in his 30-man squad but was forced to drop them after they picked up injuries during Zamalek's 2-0 loss to Ittihad of Alexandria in the Egyptian league on Monday. According to Zamalek's doctor, Mostafa El-Mounayeri, Abdel-Shafy is suffering from a knee injury, while Nour El-Sayed has sustained a pelvic joint injury, and both need to rest. Egypt, who are leading Group G in the World Cup qualifiers with nine points, will play away games against Zimbabwe and Mozambique on 9 June and 16 June respectively.
