Zamalek's Mohamed Abdul-Shafi and Nour Al-Sayed have both been dropped from Egypt's squad due to injury. Both players were injured in Zamalek's latest defeat to Ittihad and have accordingly pulled out of the national team squad for qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Mozambique. It is very likely that manager Bob Bradley will call a replacement for Abdul-Shafi, whose absence leaves Ahli's Ahmed Shedid as the only left-back on board. ENPPI's Mohamed Nassef could be recalled to the Egypt roster, which comprises a provisional list of 30 players for next week's friendly against Botswana.
