The trial of an Egyptian man accused of attempting to storm the presidential palace in February will begin at a Cairo criminal court on Tuesday. Moawad Mohamed Eissa, 47, is accused of attempting to storm Cairo's Itihadiya Palace using a crane, and of being involved in the violent clashes that erupted at the palace in February. Eissa is facing charges of purposely damaging public property, resisting the authorities and using violence against a member of the presidential guard. Eissa was arrested by the presidential guard in February during clashes between anti-Morsi protesters and security guards at the presidential palace. Egypt saw a series of mass demonstrations at the presidential palace against President Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood earlier this year.
